Our trip - Day 6

EAST RHEAUME!!!

Today was another Walleye Day. Hearing all of the stories of success on East Rheaume, the anglers decided to brave the treacherous journey and fish East Rheaume.

We set out Early, packed our lunch and rain gear, and started out. It rained, and was very windy in the morning … but once the rain ended; it turned into a hot one!

Vern and Bob were in one boat, and Troy and Uncle Raym were in the other boat (Rich was unable to fish due to his knee injury).

Uncle Raym started the day out with a bang, catching two 19” walleye!

Troy, not wanting to get outshined, caught a 21” whopper!

Troy and Uncle Raym were getting hits like crazy. Bob and Vern, obviously frustrated, were seen boating all over the like … and Bob was even heard saying “I don’t know what the big deal with East Rheaume is … I’m not that impressed with it.” Oh, how he regretted saying those words later in the week!!!

Back at camp, Rich fished off the dock, catching a 16” walleye. He also befriended a squirrel.

On the fifth day of fishing, the following fish were caught:

  • Bob - 3 pike, 2 walleye
  • Uncle Raym – 4 pike, 3 walleye (2 – 19” walleye)
  • Troy - 7 pike, 2 walleye (21” walleye)
  • Rich – 1 walleye
  • Vern -1 pike

For breakfast, the anglers had coffee and Danish. For dinner, the anglers had a walleye feast, with baked beans and roasted potatoes.
